A Palestinian Child dies in northern Gaza due to malnutrition, raising death toll to 39

Medical sources announced today, Monday, the death of a 6-year-old child due to famine and dehydration, bringing the number of malnutrition victims in the Gaza Strip to 39.

The same sources said that the child Ali Anas Al-Tatar (6 years old) died in the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, due to malnutrition as a result of the famine in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to a report by the Foundation for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and the Wounded published yesterday, Sunday, the number of deaths recorded in the southern governorates as a result of the starvation policy implemented by the occupation forces since October 7, 2023, has risen to 39.

The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip said that there is a widespread spread of skin diseases in the Strip, especially among children.

The population of the northern Gaza Strip, numbering about 700,000, is suffering from a severe shortage of food and vegetables, as a result of Israel's continued closure of the border crossings and the failure of trucks to enter the north, which brings the "spectre of famine" back to the forefront, according to local officials and international organizations.

On May 7, the occupation forces occupied the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing, which led to the cessation of the flow of aid to the Strip and the travel of the wounded and sick abroad for treatment, and exacerbated the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, specifically in the north, after citizens exhausted what remained of their food supplies in light of the scarcity of aid.
