The fiercest since 1967.. The escalation of arrests in the West Bank

partner

The West Bank is witnessing an unprecedented arrest campaign since 1967, with estimates indicating that about 10,000 Palestinians have been arrested since October 7.

Within 24 hours, the Israeli occupation forces arrested at least 6 Palestinians from the West Bank, including two children and former prisoners.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club said in a statement on Sunday that the arrests were distributed across the governorates of Ramallah, Jenin and Jerusalem.

This brings the total number of arrests since October 7 to more than 9,845. This number includes those who were arrested from their homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were detained.

The most heinous arrest campaigns

In turn, the spokesman for the Prisoners Club, Amjad Al-Najjar, said that the Israeli occupation launched the most heinous arrest campaigns since October 7, explaining that the arrest campaigns are retaliatory in nature.

For his part, Ibrahim Najajra said that the Israeli occupation forces treat prisoners and detainees in a humiliating manner, and often urinate on them and spit in their mouths.

The occupation forces continue to implement systematic arrest campaigns, as one of the most prominent fixed policies, which escalated in an unprecedented manner after October 7, not only in terms of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.

The occupation besieges Balata camp

The occupation army surrounded a house in Balata camp in Nablus in the West Bank this morning and targeted it with shoulder-fired missiles amidst shooting, bombing and destruction around the besieged house.

Sources told the Palestinian News Agency that the occupation bulldozers demolished parts of Al-Araishi Mall in the camp.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its crews dealt with the injury of a boy during the storming of Balata camp east of Nablus for the fourth time in less than 24 hours, amid the deployment of military reinforcements accompanied by a bulldozer.

A general strike is sweeping the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank today, Sunday, following the martyrdom of two Palestinians in Balata camp east of the city, in compliance with the call of the Factions Coordination Committee.
