Israel informs Egypt of its approval of the terms of the Philadelphia and Rafah axis
Israeli media revealed, on Wednesday, that Israel will inform Egypt of its approval to withdraw its forces from the Rafah crossing and the Philadelphi corridor.
The Israeli newspaper, Jerusalem Post, said, "An Israeli delegation will inform Egyptian officials of the approval to withdraw Israeli forces from the Rafah crossing and the Philadelphi corridor."
According to the newspaper, Israel informed Egypt on Tuesday that a security delegation will arrive in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss several points in the prisoner exchange deal negotiations with the Egyptians, according to local Egyptian media.
The newspaper quoted Egyptian media reports as saying that Israel informed Cairo that it "agreed to the conditions related to the Philadelphi Corridor and the Rafah Crossing."
It was also reported that an Egyptian security delegation will head to Doha on Thursday to participate in meetings to reach an agreement and a temporary ceasefire for 6 weeks.
Hamas demands
Prior to that, Hamas informed Egypt that it was waiting and expecting a complete cessation of military operations inside the Gaza Strip in order to continue negotiations, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Hamas also demanded the release of about 1,000 prisoners in exchange for a third of the living Israeli detainees, and stipulated the entry of 600 trucks daily for 42 days.
Hamas's additional demand was to begin aid operations, restore infrastructure, and bring in fuel and gas.
Hamas also demanded the reactivation of the Rafah crossing without an Israeli presence.
