The former US National Security Advisor stresses the two-state solution
Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton stressed on Friday that the United States considers Israel an occupied state in accordance with international law, stressing at the same time the “two-state solution” as the most effective solution.
John Bolton added during an interview with Al-Ghad TV that US President Joe Biden also believes in the two-state solution.
He touched on the decision of the International Court of Justice, stressing that it is not surprising, and expressing his hope that Israel will show interest in the decision in the future.
John Bolton defended Israel in its aggression against the Gaza Strip, saying: “Israel does not specifically target civilians, but rather Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip.
He also accused Hamas of cooperating with external parties, and they were the ones who caused the war on the Gaza Strip after the October 7 attack, he said.
Opinion of the International Court of Justice
Earlier today, Friday, the President of the International Court of Justice, Nawaf Salam, stressed the need for Israel to respect the sovereignty and unity of the Palestinian territories, stressing that there is control over the movement of individuals and preventing the entry of aid.
This came during a session of the International Court of Justice to express its advisory opinion on the consequences of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
The International Court of Justice obligated Israel to end its presence in the occupied Palestinian territories as soon as possible, and stressed the necessity of providing compensation for the damages resulting from the occupation to the Palestinians.
The court called on all countries to commit not to recognize Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories, and to distinguish between Israel and the occupied territories.
