Israel's weapons are designed to maximize the number of casualties in Gaza
International newspapers focused their attention on the latest developments in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, the catastrophic humanitarian conditions left by the unprecedented Israeli war, in addition to the horrific injuries caused by Israeli weapons.
In this context, writer David Ignatius said in the American newspaper The Washington Post, “The administration of US President Joe Biden appears close to a ceasefire agreement and the release of Israeli hostages.”
Ignatius noted that if a final agreement is reached, it will be a strong confirmation of Biden's diplomacy, which tried to balance the American role in peacemaking in the Middle East, with strong military support for Israel.
In turn, the Israeli newspaper "Maariv" quoted the former Israeli government spokesman, Elon Levy, as saying that after 9 months, Israel declared "total failure" on one of the decisive fronts in the war, which is propaganda.
Levy, who participated in the discussion of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs and Information, revealed that his work was not organized at all, and also criticized the behavior of the Israeli government and the General Information Command in light of the ongoing war.
For its part, the British newspaper "The Guardian" said that Israeli-manufactured weapons designed to spread high levels of shrapnel caused horrific injuries to civilians in Gaza, especially children, in addition to being designed to increase the number of victims to the maximum extent, according to Amnesty International.
The newspaper quoted foreign doctors and surgeons who worked in Gaza in recent months. They said that most of the operations they performed were on children who were injured by small shrapnel, but they cause widespread damage inside the body, and have contributed to an alarming rise in amputation rates since the start of the war.
Regarding the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza, the French newspaper Le Monde highlighted the increase in evacuation and displacement orders by the Israeli army, and said that it forced about two million Palestinian residents of the Strip to live in a state of chaos and uncertainty.
The newspaper’s report - titled “The Permanent Flight of Civilians Under Bombs in Gaza” - continued that one million Palestinians fled the northern Gaza Strip in 3 months. However, more than 300,000 people remained who are considered the poorest and those who find it difficult to move, according to program estimates. World Food.
Regarding the escalation developments on the northern front, an editorial in the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” said that Israel’s policy of assassinating the leaders of the Lebanese Hezbollah brought nothing but death and destruction to the Israelis.
The newspaper saw that the assassination of senior Hezbollah leaders "is no longer carried out out of the belief that it will change the strategic balance between the party and Israel; rather, it has become an alternative to unrealized strategic achievements."
It concluded that "military actions that encourage escalation in the north and south only serve to obstruct diplomatic efforts aimed at releasing the hostages."
