Hamas statement on developments in the truce negotiations in Gaza

In a brief statement, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" revealed that it has not yet been informed by the mediators of anything new regarding the negotiations aimed at a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said on Thursday, “The occupation continues its policy of procrastination to gain time with the aim of thwarting this round of negotiations, as it did in previous rounds, and this does not deceive our people and their resistance.”

It pointed out that since talk about the return of indirect ceasefire negotiations, the occupation has escalated its aggression and barbaric bombing of the Gaza Strip.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory said that the Israeli occupation army’s continued implementation of its crimes aims mainly to use civilians as a tool for pressure and blackmail and to eliminate the Palestinians, amid international silence over the crime of genocide, which Tel Aviv has been committing in the Gaza Strip since last October.

The Washington Post newspaper announced the development of negotiations between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, stressing that there is progress in the general framework for completing an exchange deal between Tel Aviv and Hamas.

The American newspaper, citing sources involved in the negotiations, explained that Hamas agreed to form a temporary Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip in the second phase of the deal on the condition of ending the war and exchanging prisoners.

The American newspaper indicated that a security force consisting of 2,500 armed members of the Palestinian Authority will be formed after being trained by the Americans to manage security issues in Gaza, and they will receive Arab support.
