A Qassam ambush causes losses to an Israeli force in Shuja'iya
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that today, Thursday, it ambushed an Israeli force in the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, and targeted tanks in the same area, while the occupation committed new massacres against civilians.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement via the Telegram application that its fighters clashed with members of the Israeli force and left them dead and wounded.
It added that Israeli helicopters were landing to evacuate the dead and wounded in the Shujaiya neighborhood.
Almost simultaneously with Al-Qassam’s announcement of this ambush, Israeli websites spoke of a “difficult event” that Israeli soldiers were exposed to in the Gaza Strip.
For the second day in a row, the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza is witnessing battles between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation forces, which over the past few days have suffered deaths and injuries in the neighborhood.
Resistance operations
As the battles continued in the Shuja'iya neighborhood, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that their fighters today targeted two "Merkava 4" tanks with "Al-Yassin 105" shells. They also, in conjunction with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, targeted a tank of the same model with a "Shawaz" device in the Shuja'iya neighborhood as well.
Al-Qassam said that its fighters, in conjunction with the Martyr Abdul Qader al-Husseini Brigades, fired a "SAM 7" missile toward an Israeli Apache helicopter in the airspace of Shuja'iya.
For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades announced that its fighters detonated a "Thaqib" barrel bomb in an Israeli military vehicle in the vicinity of the central area. They also, in conjunction with Al-Qassam fighters, detonated a (Merkavah 4) tank with a high-explosive barrel bomb.
The brigades also announced that its fighters bombed positions of Israeli army forces with mortar shells.
In another axis, Al-Qassam announced that it had targeted the headquarters of the Israeli army’s operations command near the “Nahal Oz” site on the Gaza Strip with “Rajum” and “107” missiles.
For its part, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades published a video clip targeting the occupation crowds penetrating the Swedish village, west of Rafah, with missiles and mortar shells.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced today that 17 soldiers were injured in the Gaza battles during the past 24 hours.
The occupation army announced at dawn today that an officer and a soldier were killed and 3 other soldiers were wounded in two attacks in the northern Gaza Strip last night. Hours earlier, it announced that an officer from the 75th Battalion was killed and 3 others were wounded in battles in the northern Gaza Strip as well.
The Israeli army also said that the forces of the 98th Division continue to fight in the Shujaiya neighborhood, and claimed that during the past 24 hours they had killed a number of militants and found various means of combat.
The army added that the Air Force bombed a number of militants in the central Gaza Strip, and warplanes also launched raids in the Rafah area, targeting militants and infrastructure in the city.
Continuous massacres
On the other hand, medical sources told Al Jazeera that 22 Palestinians were martyred today as a result of the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip since dawn today.
The intense Israeli bombardment continued on the Shuja'iya neighborhood and other neighborhoods in Gaza City, leaving martyrs and destruction.
In the Al-Rimal neighborhood in central Gaza City, Palestinians were injured in a bombing that targeted a school housing displaced people, and in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, a similar bombing resulted in the martyrdom of Al-Quds TV journalist Muhammad Al-Sakani, according to the Palestinian Al-Aqsa TV.
The correspondent said that an Israeli raid on a house in the ancient gold market in Gaza City resulted in martyrs and injuries. The correspondent had reported the death of a Palestinian and the injury of 3 in an Israeli artillery shelling on Al-Shaaf Street, east of the city.
Israeli forces also raided Al-Shati camp, killing a Palestinian and wounding others.
Al Jazeera's correspondent also reported that 3 Palestinians were killed in a bombing that targeted a house west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Today, the occupation aircraft targeted the roof of a house belonging to the Ghaben family in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that the Israeli occupation forces committed 4 massacres, resulting in 58 martyrs and 179 wounded arriving at hospitals in 24 hours.
The ministry added that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression rose to 38,000 martyrs and 87,445 injured since October 7.
Meanwhile, ambulance crews continue for the second day to recover the bodies of martyrs from various areas in the Tal Al-Sultan neighborhood and the Saudi neighborhood west of Rafah, and since yesterday morning they have been able to recover the bodies of 24 martyrs.
Amid the ongoing bombardment, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that the electricity generators in the Nasser Medical Complex, the only remaining main hospital in Gaza, will stop working during the next few hours due to the lack of fuel needed to operate them.
For its part, the administration of the Kuwait Field Hospital, in the Al-Mawasi area near Rafah, said that its health service would stop within 24 hours due to the running out of fuel needed to operate the electrical generators.
