Clashes broke out between the Israeli police and religiously extremist Jews (Haredim), on Sunday, during a demonstration in which tens of thousands of them participated in Jerusalem. Rejecting attempts to recruit them into the army, according to Hebrew media.
The Broadcasting Authority and Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that violent clashes broke out in Jerusalem between the police and religious protesters, during a demonstration in which tens of thousands of them participated against attempts to recruit them into the army.
Demonstrators attacked the car of Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldnov, and threw stones at him, accusing him of colluding to recruit "Haredim."
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court unanimously decided to urge the state that “Haredim” must be conscripted into the army, a controversial issue for years.
