Netanyahu's office is quick to respond to what was published regarding the Fatah movement and the day after the war in Gaza
The Hebrew website "Ynet", citing security sources, said on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu withdrew his opposition to the Fatah movement's participation in managing the affairs of the Gaza Strip on the "day after" the war.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office quickly responded to statements by security sources stating that Benjamin Netanyahu withdrew his objection to the Fatah movement's involvement in the administration of the Gaza Strip on the "day after" the war.
The Prime Minister's Office denied the security sources' statements, saying, "The announcement that Netanyahu withdrew his objection to Fatah's participation the day after the war is baseless."
He added, "The Prime Minister is firm in his position that those who finance terrorism and those who support terrorism and the culture of terrorism, including the Palestinian Authority, cannot be partners in managing Gaza the day after Hamas rule."
His office indicated that Netanyahu repeated this position in Cabinet meetings, American and Israeli officials.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has repeatedly expressed his complete opposition to Fatah's participation in the management of the Gaza Strip in the post-war period, and Defense Minister Gallant criticized him, saying, "The end of the military regime is a political act, and the day after Hamas will not be achieved except through the control of Palestinian elements with the support of Hamas." International, which will be an alternative to the Hamas authority.”
Gallant stressed at the time that it was an Israeli national interest, and the absence of a decision was also a decision.
Netanyahu said at the time in response: “I am not ready to replace (Hamastan with Fatehistan)... After October 7, I ordered the destruction of Hamas.. The IDF and security forces are fighting for that.. As long as Hamas remains as it is, no other entity will come to manage the civilian situation.” In Gaza and certainly not the Palestinian Authority.”
He also stated in response to his Defense Minister that "80% of the Palestinians in the West Bank support the October 7 attack, and the Palestinian Authority supports and finances terrorism... Therefore, the first condition to pave the way for the emergence of another party is to eliminate Hamas and to do so without justifications."
In addition, the American newspaper "The Washington Post" revealed the plan to move to the "next day" presented by Defense Minister Yoav Galant in Washington, and as part of it the involvement of a Palestinian force that should gradually be responsible for local security.
According to the newspaper, in order to complete the Gallant Plan, the United States is required to commit to this plan, which will encourage Arab countries and local parties in the sector to participate in its implementation.
