Two rockets exploded near the Kerem Shalom settlement adjacent to Gaza
A Hebrew newspaper said on Saturday that two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip and exploded near the Kerem Shalom settlement adjacent to the Strip, without activating the sirens.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, “two rockets fired from Gaza exploded in an open area near Kibbutz Kerem Shalom in the Gaza Strip.”
It added: “No alarm was activated in the area,” without further details.
From time to time, Palestinian armed factions in the Gaza Strip announce that they have targeted Israeli military concentrations in the Kerem Shalom area with missiles and mortar shells, causing losses among their ranks.
In a related context, the Israeli army said in a statement, on Saturday morning, that two rockets were fired on Friday from the Gaza Strip towards the Sderot area, north of the western Negev.
The army explained in a statement published on its account on the “X” platform that its air defenses intercepted one of the missiles, while the other fell in an open area without causing any casualties.
It added: "A short time later, Air Force planes raided a tunnel opening adjacent to the launch area, and army forces also bombarded the sources of fire with artillery," without specifying the launch area.
