"International Justice": Spain requests to join South Africa's lawsuit

The International Court of Justice announced that Spain requested to join South Africa's lawsuit, which accuses the Israeli occupation of committing genocide in Gaza.

Turkey joined South Africa in the case filed against the Israeli occupation, as the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, stated that Turkey had decided to join South Africa in the case it filed against the Israeli occupation in the International Court of Justice.

In January, the International Court of Justice ordered the occupation to refrain from any actions that might lead to a violation of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and to ensure that its forces do not commit acts of genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

This came after South Africa accused Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

Israel and its Western allies have described these accusations as baseless, and it will likely take years for a final ruling in this case to be issued before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
