Haaretz newspaper criticized the recent attack on Israeli army leaders, especially by Sara, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his son, Yair.

The newspaper considered, in an editorial, that the aim of these criticisms was to hold the military leaders alone responsible for the failure to repel the attack by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Israel on the seventh of last October, and to enable Netanyahu to evade responsibility and deny committing any sin.

Sarah Netanyahu made these accusations against army commanders during her meeting last week with some families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza.

She said that incitement against the Israeli army and its leaders is a “systematic” act, and that the pressure exerted by Netanyahu to weaken the army also aims to prevent it from increasing its forces by insisting on the continued application of a law that prevents the recruitment of extremist Haredi Jews.
