"Human slaughterhouse"... a horrific testimony about the torture of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons
Freed Palestinian prisoner Walid Anwar Al-Khalili revealed tragic details that he and other Palestinian prisoners were subjected to in the Israeli “Sde Teman” detention center, which he described as a “human slaughterhouse.”
In a special statement to Al-Arabi TV, Al-Khalili explained the details of the torture he was subjected to since his arrest while trying to help Palestinian citizens in the Tal Al-Hawa area, west of Gaza City, until he entered the Sde Teman detention center and was transferred to the Negev prison.
The medical staff's clothing did not protect him
He reported that the occupation army killed wounded Palestinians who were with him while he was trying to treat them, noting that he was targeted by gunfire despite wearing the uniform of medical staff.
He explained that he was severely beaten by more than 20 Israeli soldiers when he was arrested, and was transferred via a Merkava tank to Sde Timan, where the soldiers told him that he and the rest of the prisoners in this prison were “destined to die.”
Al-Khalili confirmed that the Palestinian detainees in “Sde Teman” are subjected to severe torture, and they bleed after rounds of torture without being provided with treatment.
The prisoner also revealed cases of rape and serious violations against prisoners inside the prison, and the failure to provide them with water, food and treatment, in addition to the use of electrical wires in torture and placing their heads in water for long periods.
Views from inside the Sde Timan secret prison
Lawyer Khaled Mahajneh had told Al-Arabi TV a week ago about his observations from inside the “Sde Teman” detention center in the Negev Desert.
Mahajna is the first lawyer to enter this prison since the Israeli occupation army began arresting Palestinian citizens from the Gaza Strip on October 7th.
The lawyer explained in an exclusive interview with Al-Arabi TV that the Sde Teman detention center is one of the secret prisons in Israel, which holds thousands of detainees from the Gaza Strip. He described his visit to the prison as mixed with sadness, anger, and helplessness because of everything he heard and saw from the testimony of journalist Muhammad Arab. .
He explained that the "Sde Teman" detention center is a camp for soldiers and the Israeli army in which more than 1,000 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip are held. They are detained in four barracks inside the camp, and inside each barrack there are more than 150 detainees who sleep on the floor without blankets and without any pillows to sleep on.
Thousands of Palestinians live in humiliating conditions
The New York Times conducted an investigation from inside the prison. The newspaper's correspondent who conducted the investigation reported that he saw men sitting in rows, handcuffed and blindfolded, while soldiers watched them from the other side of the mesh fence and their jailers prevented them from standing or sleeping.
According to estimates, the occupation has arrested more than 4,000 Palestinians in Sde Teman, living in humiliating conditions, and being punched, kicked, and beaten with batons, rifle butts, manual metal detectors, and electric shocks during their interrogation.
