Norway provides $10 million in additional aid to UNRWA

Norway announced that it will provide about $10 million in additional aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).


Norwegian Minister of International Development Anne Beth Tevenrim announced in a press release on the government's website that they will send an additional $10 million in aid to UNRWA at the beginning of 2024, in addition to the aid it provides.


The Minister described UNRWA as "the backbone of humanitarian activities in Gaza." Pointing out that the agency is suffering from financial difficulties due to the accusations leveled by Israel.


She stated that UNRWA employees, schools and hospitals are under attack every day, and that the agency's work in Palestine is becoming more difficult with time.
