Lack of health services in Rafah as a result of the Israeli aggression
The Health Emergency Committee of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned of the worsening humanitarian conditions in the city of Rafah due to the lack of health services as a result of the deliberate Israeli targeting of medical institutions.
The committee said in a statement on Tuesday that ambulances cannot enter the city of Rafah to transport the wounded and injured as a result of the Israeli aggression on the city, which threatens their lives.
It added, "We are forced to use animal-drawn vehicles to transport the injured in many areas - especially in Rafah - due to the deliberate Israeli targeting of ambulances."
The committee explained in its statement that field hospitals are forced to permanently change their locations due to being targeted by Israeli army fire, stressing at the same time the sector’s need for more field hospitals to provide medical services, with the need to protect them from Israeli targeting.
Regarding the conditions in Gaza City and the central Strip, the committee confirmed that sewage water is spreading around the vicinity of Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, which constitutes an environmental and health hazard that threatens the lives of Palestinians, especially the sick and wounded inside the hospital.
It pointed to its success in reopening the outpatient clinics at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City and other departments to provide medical services to citizens and displaced people there, especially after the Israeli army destroyed and burned the hospital buildings during its recent ground military operation.
