The Israeli army expands its invasion of Rafah by advancing west towards the beach

Residents of Rafah reported today, Friday, that the Israeli army was expanding its invasion and bombarding the city from the air and land last night, while tanks attempted to advance westward, according to what Reuters reported from them, in the absence of any indication of progress in the efforts of the mediators to reach a ceasefire. To shoot in the Gaza war.

Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper reported that the Israeli army had completed its control of the Philadelphia axis from Kerem Shalom to the seashore.

Violent gun battles also took place between Israeli forces and fighters in Rafah, led by Hamas. Residents reported that tanks, which control the border strip with Egypt, launched several strikes towards west and central Rafah, wounding a number of people who were trapped inside their homes.

One of the residents said, "In my opinion, the occupation forces are trying to reach the beach area in Rafah. The raids throughout the night and the attempted incursion were tactical and under cover of fire before they retreated. This was one of the worst nights, as people were injured inside their homes before they evacuated them in the morning."

Medics said that Israeli forces also carried out operations on the ground inside the Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip, while launching heavy bombardment with aircraft and tanks on two other camps and a nearby city, killing and wounding many Palestinians.

The military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and other smaller factions, reported that fighters carried out attacks against Israeli forces in several areas of the central and southern Gaza Strip.

Regarding attempts to reach a ceasefire agreement, a Hamas official told Reuters, “We have shown all the flexibility required to reach a deal, but the Israeli occupation still refuses any commitment to stop the aggression against our people and withdraw its forces from the Gaza Strip.”

He added, "The occupation and the Americans bear responsibility for not reaching an agreement so far because of their opposition to ending the war on our people."
