West Bank: Israel seizes 385 dunums of Palestinian citizens’ lands in Hebron
The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Minister Moayed Shaaban, revealed that the Israeli occupation seized a total of 385 dunums of citizens’ lands in Hebron, under the name of “expropriation orders.”
Shaaban said, in a press statement, today, Friday, that the seizure order aims to create a major expansion of “Street 60” to facilitate the movement of settlers, which is the section that begins at Jabal Johar, south of the city of Hebron, which is the point where work began in 1990 according to the seizure order. Previously, the section designated for expansion then extends from Khirbet Adissa, east of the city of Hebron, adjacent to the “Kiryat Arba” colony, all the way to the lands of Halhul at the section that was expropriated by the occupying state in 1995.
He added that the occupying state is bending the laws regulating and developing infrastructure in effect before the occupation for the benefit of the colonists, in serious violation of international laws that criminalize all forms of apartheid and land seizure for the benefit of the settlers, in that it steals Palestinian land and presents it as infrastructure to empower the settlers.
Shaaban stated that “what appears from the outside as a development of infrastructure and roads, according to the occupation’s claim, is nothing more than an occupational means to divide the Palestinian geography, stifle the Palestinian presence, and prevent communication between villages and towns in all places of the Palestinian presence.”
