Health in Gaza: 25 thousand sick and wounded people need to travel abroad
The Gaza Ministry of Health said on Thursday, “25,000 sick and wounded need to travel for treatment outside the besieged Strip, amid the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, exposing the lives of thousands to complications and death.”
The Ministry noted that the lives of many of them could be treated and saved if they were allowed to go to specialized centers outside the Gaza Strip, while the situation of these sick and wounded people worsened after the occupation deliberately destroyed most of the hospitals in the Strip and put them out of service.
It explained that only 4,895 sick and wounded people were able to travel when the Rafah crossing was open, noting that since the occupation of the Rafah crossing on the twelfth of last May, none of them were able to leave the Strip.
