Hebrew media: Our delegation will not go to Doha before Hamas responds to the deal proposal
The Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation said that the War Council decided not to leave the negotiating delegation to Doha until the Hamas movement responded to the proposal for a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The American newspaper Axios quoted officials as saying that Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Egypt's Intelligence Director Abbas Kamel met today in Doha with Hamas officials to discuss a possible deal for a truce in Gaza.
Meanwhile, White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed in an interview with NBC that the occupation government is continuing its offer.
He said: "The Israeli government assured us once again today that it stands behind its proposal regarding the prisoner deal and the ceasefire in Gaza. This offer is still valid and Hamas must respond to it and the whole world must pressure Hamas to accept it."
The American media reported that the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, arrived in Doha yesterday to discuss reaching an agreement on the war in the Gaza Strip.
Biden's chief advisor for Middle East affairs, Brett McGurk, will also arrive in Cairo tomorrow, noting that Burns and McGurk's trip is part of a comprehensive pressure campaign to reach a breakthrough on the deal in Gaza.
