UNRWA warns of overcrowding in camps for displaced people in Gaza
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that the overcrowding of Palestinian refugee camps in the Gaza Strip and the lack of hygiene are increasing the spread of infectious diseases, given that vaccines and medicines are insufficient.
The UN agency said in a post on the “X” platform today, Friday, “its teams continue to provide health care to vulnerable people in Gaza, including children and the elderly.”
It stressed that "vaccines and medicines in the Gaza Strip are insufficient," and that overcrowding in displacement camps and lack of hygiene increase the spread of infectious diseases, pointing out that "there is an urgent need for safe and unrestricted access for relief and aid teams."
