Saudi Foreign Minister: Israel must accept that it does not exist without the establishment of a Palestinian state

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said that Israel must acknowledge that it cannot exist without the existence of the State of Palestine.

This came during a press conference held by the Saudi Foreign Minister with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Ede, and European Union foreign policy official Josep Borrell, after an Arab-European ministerial meeting in Brussels to discuss the Palestinian issue.

The Saudi Foreign Minister stressed that Israel is endangering the lives of Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, and said: "The conditions in the Gaza Strip are deteriorating unacceptably."

He continued: “We are focusing on preserving the two-state solution. There is international agreement that the only way to secure the protection of the rights of the Palestinians and Israel is the two-state solution. Israel must recognize that the two-state solution is in its interest,” stressing that “if Israel does not realize that.” "This is a real concern."

He stressed that the international community's standing behind international law "will also serve as an important signal to Israel that it does not enjoy immunity from punishment, and that it cannot undermine the Palestinian state forever."
