Israeli Prison administration deliberately neglects the health conditions of the two Palestinian prisoners

The Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs Authority reported today, Tuesday, that the Ofer Prison administration is deliberately neglecting the health conditions of the prisoners in conjunction with the continued poor living and detention conditions in which they live, imposed on them in accordance with the escalation policy that began since the seventh of last October.

The Commission explained in a statement following its lawyer’s visit to Ofer Prison that prisoner Ahmed Abu Hussein, 50 years old, from the city of Hebron, is suffering from a severe chest pain and irritable bowel syndrome, as the Ofer Prison administration refuses to give him any type of treatment or medication.

The prisoner Abu Hussein told the Commission’s lawyer that he was in a completely isolated room and that food was still scarce and bad without sugar or salt.

In the same context, the Commission’s lawyer said, after his visit to Ofer Prison yesterday, that prisoner Muhammad Amer Dabour, 31 years old, from Jalazoun Camp, north of Ramallah, suffers from deliberate medical negligence and is not receiving treatment as he suffered from air blisters in his face due to the lack of glass windows in the rooms. From skin problems in his fingers due to the lack of nail clippers in the department.

Among the inhumane practices imposed on prisoners in Ofer prison is a lack of personal hygiene tools and supplies and procrastination in providing some of them, in light of their lack of clothes, underwear, and dressing gowns.

It is worth noting that all the penalties imposed on prisoners after October 7 are still in place.
