American newspaper: Washington promised Israel to determine “the location of Hamas leaders” in exchange for stopping the invasion of Rafah
Western media reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden offered Israel secret intelligence information that would help locate Hamas leaders and find hidden tunnels, in exchange for abandoning the Rafah invasion.
The article published in those outlets stated: “The Biden administration, which is working urgently to prevent a large-scale Israeli invasion of Rafah, is providing valuable assistance to Israel if it refrains from entering Rafah, including secret intelligence that will help the Israeli army locate Hamas leaders and find... Hidden traffic tunnels,” they say.
According to the Washington Post, American officials also offered to help provide thousands of shelters.
Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli army confirmed the expansion of its military operations in the Palestinian city of Rafah, after evacuating some of the city’s residents.
