Newspaper: Al-Sanwar is in Khan Yunis, not in Rafah
Israeli sources reported on Saturday that the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, is not in Rafah, contrary to previous assumptions.
Two Israeli officials confirmed to The Times of Israel that the latest information suggests the presence of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, in Gaza, through tunnels in the vicinity of Khan Yunis, and not in Rafah, where the Israeli army is currently moving.
The two officials indicated that Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 operation, continues to escape from the occupation forces in Gaza.
The Israeli newspaper reported that Israel made “eliminating Sinwar” an essential element in its declared goal of destroying “Hamas.”
It should be noted that White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby confirmed two days ago that the American administration is helping Israel track down the head of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, and other leaders in the movement.
