Health: Rafah crossing clusure prevents the travel of thousands of sick and wounded people

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip called on the countries that pledged and requested lists of the sick and wounded to fulfill and adhere to their pledges and to work urgently for their travel.

The Ministry confirmed in a statement that work at the Rafah crossing had been suspended as a result of the occupation’s control over it, which prevented the wounded and sick and their companions from traveling to receive treatment outside Gaza.

It indicated that the list that was supposed to travel today, Tuesday, was banned according to what the Egyptian side requested, revealing 140.

It warned that the situation of patients and wounded in hospitals in the Gaza Strip has been very difficult since the beginning of the war due to the loss of the minimum components of treatment, devices, equipment and medical supplies and the complete collapse of the health system.

It said: We have travel lists for the wounded and sick in thousands of cases, and now they have been prevented from traveling, stressing that closing the Rafah crossing prevented the entry of trucks of medicine and medical equipment and the entry of fuel needed for hospitals and prevented the exit of thousands of wounded and sick people waiting to travel.

The Israeli forces stormed the Rafah crossing at dawn on Tuesday and raised the entity’s flag inside, putting it out of service.
