President Abbas is making intensive contacts to prevent the invasion of Rafah
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas made extensive contacts with regional and international parties, to discourage the Israeli occupation from invading Rafah and committing new massacres against the Palestinians.
The Palestinian presidency called on the American administration to intervene immediately to prevent the massacre, which it warned of its dangerous repercussions, stressing that the invasion of Rafah means that one and a half million Palestinians will be subjected to genocidal massacre and attempts at displacement.
The presidency reiterated that peace and security in the entire region will not be achieved without a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, with its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
President Abbas had considered that the United States was “the only country” capable of stopping Tel Aviv’s attack on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, which he considered would be “the greatest disaster in the history of the Palestinian people” if it occurred.
President Abbas said during a speech before the World Economic Forum held in Riyadh, "We appeal to the United States of America to ask Israel to stop the Rafah operation because America is the only country capable of preventing Israel from committing this crime."
