The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Quds Newspaper and its General Manager, Mr. Ziad Abu Al-Zuluf, issued a decision appointing the journalist Ibrahim Melhem as editor-in-chief of Al-Quds Newspaper, its website, and all digital platforms emanating from it.

Abu Al-Zuluf said: “This appointment comes in line with the future vision of the newspaper, which aims to improve its publications and develop its performance in form and content in a way that meets the desires of readers and recipients of written, audio and visual materials, and to create a qualitative shift that responds to the rapid developments in the journalism, media and digital media industry.

Abu Al-Zuluf added: “Ibrahim Melhem has a rich experience in the media field, during which he combined all types of written, visual, audio and electronic media. He worked as a presenter for radio and television programmes, wrote many articles, and was the editor-in-chief of many newspapers, magazines and websites, the most recent of which was the website. For Al-Quds newspaper, he served as its editor-in-chief before moving to work as the official spokesman for the Palestinian government, where he left an imprint with his good performance through his media management of his mission, especially the daily press conferences he held during the Corona pandemic.

Abu Al-Zuluf confirmed granting Melhem full powers, and providing all requirements and needs to enable him to bring about the desired transformation in the newspaper and its digital platforms, as well as establishing a radio and television station, a center for strategic studies and research, and another for opinion polls, expressing his pleasure in assuming this task, and reiterating his confidence in his ability to succeed in it.

Melhem published a book entitled “Journalism from Tablet to Tablet,” and he has a soon-to-be published book entitled “Outside the Text... Inside the Experience.” He worked as a professor of media at Birzeit and Jerusalem universities.

Melhem was one of the founders of the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation in the early 1990s. He presented many radio and television talk shows, and held several positions, including the position of Director General of the Satellite Channel and Director General of the Radio and Television Corporation.
