The authority and the club said in a joint statement that the martyr doctor Al-Barsh was arrested by the Israeli army in December 2023, while he was in Al-Awda Hospital alongside a group of doctors. According to the available information that was reported to Palestinian Civil Affairs, Al-Barsh died in Ofer Prison. On April 19, 2024, his body is still detained, noting that Al-Barash had suffered an injury while he was in the Indonesian hospital about 5 months ago.

The second is Ismail Abd al-Bari Rajab Khadr (33 years old). According to available information, he died after his arrest. His body was delivered today along with dozens of Gaza detainees who were released today via the Kerem Shalom crossing, as announced by the Border and Crossings Authority in Gaza.

The Prisoners’ Commission and the Prisoners’ Club considered that  Al-Barash and Khadr rose as a result of the crimes of torture and medical crimes faced by the oppressed in Gaza, in light of the continued crime of enforced disappearance against them, and they stressed that what happened with Dr. Al-Barash in particular is a deliberate assassination that comes within the framework of a systematic targeting of doctors in Gaza and the health system, including the aggression launched by the occupation against Al-Shifa Hospital in particular, targeting its medical staff, and the subsequent complete destruction of the hospital, turning it into a cemetery where hundreds were martyred and arrested. in it.
