Israeli Minister: Proposed prisoner exchange deal with Hamas is “terrible”
Israeli Settlement Minister Orit Struck on Wednesday considered the proposal for a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas “terrible,” and claimed that the government that is sacrificing everything in order to recover 22 Israeli prisoners “does not deserve to stay.”
“The deal is terrible, and a government that throws everything in the trash to bring back 22 or 33 people has no right to stay,” Struck, who is from the far-right Jewish Power party led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, told Israeli Army Radio.
Commenting on the minister’s statements, opposition leader Yair Lapid said in a post on the X platform: “A government that includes 22 or 33 extremist members has no right to remain.”
