Protests in universities and capitals denouncing the aggression against Gaza

Demonstrators have been gathering for days in European universities and capitals, to protest against the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and to demand a ceasefire, similar to the protests taking place at American universities, which began at Columbia University in New York City.

The protests in support of our Palestinian people join in demanding a ceasefire and providing aid to the Gaza Strip. They called on Western governments to stop supplying weapons to Israel and stop any cooperation with it.

Unprecedented scenes witnessed by American and European universities in the expansion of student protests rejecting the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and demanding an immediate ceasefire.

United State

Tension is rising in American universities, which are witnessing increasing demonstrations against the aggression on the Gaza Strip, as they were organized in a number of internationally prestigious universities, such as Harvard, Columbia, and Princeton, while the American authorities threaten to send security forces to disperse them every time.

The Columbia University Council voted to approve a resolution calling for an investigation into the university administration, accusing it of violating established protocols and undermining academic freedom, following the arrest of more than 100 student demonstrators over the past few days, due to their protest against the continued aggression against the Gaza Strip.

The resolution also calls for the establishment of a working group in the University Council to investigate the university’s decision-making process.

In a related context, students supporting the Palestinian cause set up a camp to protest the Gaza war, at the University of North Carolina.

The US DeKalb District Court judge also issued an order to release all detained students and teachers from Emory University in the US state of Georgia.

It is noteworthy that Georgetown University and George Washington University in Washington, DC, joined the protests denouncing the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Paris

A number of students staged a sit-in inside the building of Sciences Po University in the French capital, Paris, denouncing the occupation’s violations against our people, chanting slogans in support of our Palestinian people, and raising the Palestinian flag on the windows and above the entrance to the building, and a number of them placed the black and white keffiyeh, which has become a symbol of solidarity with Gaza.

The protesters demanded that the university administration condemn Israel's actions, echoing the sound of similar protests at American universities.

Berlin

In Berlin, German police removed the tents that demonstrators had set up outside the Parliament building, forcibly removed them, and closed the surrounding area to prevent the arrival of other protesters.

The activists set up the camp on April 8, coinciding with the start of the International Court of Justice’s consideration of a lawsuit filed by Nicaragua against Germany, due to Berlin’s provision of military aid to Israel.

Britain

In Britain, demonstrations take place regularly every Saturday, in London and other cities, attended by tens of thousands of people.

Matt Beech, director of the Center for British Politics at the University of Hull, said in press statements that one of the reasons for the decline in violent protests on university campuses in Britain, compared to what is happening in the United States, is because the majority of demonstrations that take place in Britain are in support of the Palestinians, and they are taking place. Every Saturday.

Dozens of University of London students went out in demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza, and in support of their fellow American university students.
