Israeli police assaulted demonstrators who demanded a ceasefire at the Beit Hanoun crossing

Today, Friday, Israeli police attacked dozens of demonstrators at the Erez Checkpoint (Beit Hanoun) and demanded a ceasefire and an exchange of prisoners between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli media reported that among the demonstrators was a delegation of rabbis from the United States, who came carrying food supplies for the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The police arrested 7 demonstrators while dispersing the demonstration.

The demonstrators said, "The Israeli government is using hunger in Gaza as a weapon against 2.3 million people, preventing the entry of necessary humanitarian aid, and causing a reality of starvation and disease" in the Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli police do not prevent members of the extreme right who repeatedly demonstrate at the Kerem Shalom crossing, with the aim of preventing humanitarian aid trucks from entering the Gaza Strip.

The Ynet website had quoted a senior Israeli political official as saying, “The police decision to allow trucks to be blocked at the Kerem Shalom crossing is a political decision issued by Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, and aims to thwart the cabinet’s decision to bring in aid, which has not been implemented since.” days".

The Israeli official confirmed that there is no relationship between the right-wing elements who prevent the entry of humanitarian aid trucks into the Gaza Strip and the families of the Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
