Hundreds of Israeli settlers storm the archaeological site in Sebastia
Today, Thursday, hundreds of settlers stormed the archaeological site in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, under the protection of the Israeli occupation army.
According to local sources, large forces from theIsraeli occupation army stormed the town at six in the morning, closed the archaeological area and prevented entry and exit, forcing the families not to send their children to school.
It pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces closed all roads leading to the archaeological area, the old town, and the entrances to the western town, and turned several houses into military barracks, and their snipers mounted the roofs of some houses, and forced the owners of shops surrounding the archaeological area to close them.
It explained that hundreds of settlers began storming the archaeological site and held celebrations, noting that according to what the colonial associations announced, the storming will continue until five in the evening, and storms of the site will be carried out tomorrow, Friday and next Sunday, with the aim of celebrating Jewish holidays.
The sources noted that the road linking the cities of Jenin and Nablus witnesses an intense presence of the Israeli occupation army on the side roads, and that the Israeli occupation forces are checking citizens’ identities at the Shafi Shomron military checkpoint.
It warned of the Israeli occupation’s plans to impose a fait accompli on the ground by establishing a nucleus of settlers in that region, exploiting Jewish holidays with the aim of Judaizing the region by allocating tens of millions of shekels.
