On Monday, the UN Security Council unanimously approved referring the reconsideration of Palestine’s application for full membership to the Council’s Membership Committee.

The Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, thanked the Ambassador of Malta, President of the Council for this month, for this historic step “which President Mahmoud Abbas began in 2011, and we will resume in 2024.”
