Palestine requests an emergency meeting of Arab League regarding Israeli crimes in Gaza
The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, announced today, Monday, that the State of Palestine has submitted a request to hold an extraordinary session of the League Council at the level of permanent delegates as soon as possible, to discuss the Arab movement, especially in light of the continuing crime of genocide and the starvation policy it is committing. Israel and forced displacement against the Palestinian people.
Ambassador Al-Aklouk said that the State of Palestine had submitted a request to hold the meeting, to discuss the Arab and international movement in light of the ongoing Israeli threats of an imminent invasion of the city of Rafah, which houses more than 1.5 million displaced people and Palestinian citizens, in addition to Israel’s intransigence and refusal to implement Security Council resolutions related to the ceasefire. And the introduction of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, the latest of which is Resolution No. 2728, which called for an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan.
He explained that the Council will also discuss Israel’s failure to comply with the temporary measures ordered by the International Court of Justice on 1/26/2024 and 3/28/2024.
