Hamas delegation arrives in Cairo: “An agreement can be reached within 48 hours”

A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo this morning, and the movement stated that a prisoner exchange agreement could be reached “within 48 hours” if their demands are accepted.

Egyptian sources said that Hamas obtained guarantees that the conditions for ending the fighting would be determined in the second and third phases of the deal.

Hamas also commented on the information related to the Israeli prisoners, and said that any details about their fate would not be revealed “except at a heavy price.” This is after Israel announced yesterday that it would not hold another round of talks without Hamas submitting a list of living kidnapped persons.

Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official, commented on the talks, saying that he was surprised that the Israeli delegation also participated in the talks in Cairo. He pointed out that "today and tomorrow a round of talks will be held in Cairo," stressing that the movement is interested in reaching an agreement.
