Thousands of Israelis demonstrate in Tel Aviv, demanding the ouster of Netanyahu and the return of prisoners from Gaza
Thousands of Israelis demonstrated in central Tel Aviv on Saturday, demanding the return of captured occupation army soldiers and settlers in the Gaza Strip and holding early elections to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The demonstrators marched in Habima Square, some carrying banners criticizing Netanyahu with slogans such as “The Face of Evil” and “Elections Now.”
The Israeli Prime Minister is facing intense pressure to return the prisoners who were detained by the Palestinian resistance on October 7 during Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood,” which came in response to the escalation of the occupation’s violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and settler attacks in the West Bank.
Of the approximately 250 settlers and soldiers who were captured, about 100 of them were released during a truce at the end of November, and 132 are still prisoners in Gaza, 27 of whom died without their bodies being returned, according to a tally based on Israeli data.
