Israel has arrested 4,000 Palestinians since October 7

The occupation has arrested 4,000 Palestinians, most of them from the West Bank, including women from the 48 regions, since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip on October 7. This was announced by the Commission for Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, the Addameer Foundation, and the Wadi Hilweh Center in a joint statement today, Wednesday.

The joint statement stated, “Since October 7, the Israeli authorities have arrested about 4,000 Palestinians, including 1,000 detainees from Hebron Governorate.”

The statement explained that "among the detainees are 150 women, including from the 48 regions, and more than 255 children. Israel has issued 2,100 administrative detention orders since October 7, between a new and renewed decision."

The institutions stated that the data “does not include cases of arrest in the Gaza Strip.”

It pointed out that "to date, Israel detains more than 7,800 Palestinians in its prisons, including more than 2,870 administrative detainees."

The arrest campaign was also accompanied by "massive harassment, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to field investigations, widespread sabotage and destruction of citizens' homes, and direct shooting with the aim of killing," according to the statement.

Arrests in the West Bank escalated due to the war launched by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7, which left thousands dead and wounded.
