The French judiciary issues an arrest warrant against Bashar al-Assad in the case of chemical attacks
On Tuesday, the French judiciary issued an international arrest warrant against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, on charges of complicity in crimes against humanity, resulting from chemical attacks in the summer of 2013 in Syria, according to what the plaintiffs announced on Wednesday.
A judicial source confirmed that four arrest warrants had been sent, on charges of complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes in sarin gas attacks that targeted, on August 21, 2013, Eastern Ghouta and Moadamiya al-Sham near Damascus, killing more than a thousand people, according to what was reported. Washington and activists announced.
The arrest warrants target, in addition to President al-Assad, his brother Maher, the de facto commander of the Fourth Division in the Syrian army, and two other brigadier generals.
