The discovery of a stone tablet in northern China that is more than 700 years old

(Xinhua) A stone tablet dating back to 1286, during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) was discovered in Longyao County in north China's Hebei Province.
According to experts, the painting recorded the merits and virtues of a local family called the "Wang Family".
The painting is 1.52 meters high, 0.76 meters wide and 0.26 meters thick, and is made of blue stone with a dome at the top. The letters on the front side of the plate were clear in 18 lines.
The inscription describes the deeds of Wang's ancestors who had been engaged in agriculture all their lives, working hard in the fields and buying houses, caring for their elders, and helping the poor. So Wang's ancestors rebuilt the tombs and erected the plaque as a monument to remember their merits and virtues.
In this context, Guo Yingjie, an academic specializing in literature and history in Longyao County, said that the discovery of this painting is of high value for the study of the history of civilization in the Yuan Dynasty.
