The widespread incursions carried out by organizations known as the Temple Mount in successive waves into Al-Aqsa Mosque last Thursday, 23/7/2026, which were preceded by extensive incitement campaigns on their groups, social platforms, and social media pages, inviting all their supporters, friends, and members to participate in storming Al-Aqsa, ascending to what they call the Temple Mount. This was preceded by escalatory steps in this direction, as the 'Temple Mount Administration' initiated a conference titled 'A Decade of Positive Transformations in the Temple's Status,' attended by the occupation Prime Minister Netanyahu, Energy Minister Eli Cohen, and Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Nissim Vaturi, who stated that Jews must be enabled to access Al-Aqsa freely and perform their Talmudic and Torah rituals openly, and if they cannot, Muslims should be prevented from entering Al-Aqsa. There were also drawings on the walls of Bab al-Rahma prayer hall depicting 'the Redeemer,' indicating the pursuit of Judaizing Al-Aqsa, and Muslims were also removed from Bab al-Rahma prayer hall, their personal IDs confiscated, and they were summoned for interrogation.
Temple groups called on their supporters to exceed the numbers of previous years' incursions, 2022 and 2023, with two thousand intruders each year, 2024 with three thousand intruders, 2025 with four thousand intruders, and 2026 with 4248 intruders, although the target number was more than 5,000 intruders.
The incursion led by what is known as the Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and a number of Knesset members, rabbis, and leaders of extremist 'Temple' organizations, under direct and strict protection from the occupation forces, coinciding with what is called 'the anniversary of the Temple's destruction,' represents the most dangerous escalation witnessed in the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards in months. It confirms that the occupation government officially employs incursions to impose new political, religious, and legal realities within Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to consecrate temporal and spatial division and impose occupation sovereignty over it.
The large gathering of intruders, including ministers, Knesset members, and rabbis, accompanied by all military and police manifestations, tightened procedures at the entrances and gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and preventing those under eighty years old from entering Al-Aqsa to pray, confirms that what happened was not merely a large-scale incursion in terms of numbers, but rather an organized and deliberate operation preceded by extensive incitement and mobilization campaigns led by 'Temple' organizations with the participation of government officials and Knesset members, and accompanied by unprecedented military measures aimed at emptying the mosque of Muslim worshippers and creating conditions for settlers to perform their rituals in complete freedom within the mosque courtyards.
Perhaps the most dangerous events that occurred during the Al-Aqsa incursions on what is known as the anniversary of the Temple's destruction, involving attacks on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa, last Thursday, 23/7/2026, can be summarized as follows:
Dozens of settlers performed 'epic prostration' rituals in more than one location inside the mosque, wore 'tefillin' scrolls specific to Jewish prayers, and chanted Talmudic prayers and hymns loudly. They also raised occupation flags and what is called 'the Temple flag' inside the mosque courtyards and the Old City of Jerusalem, and performed dances and group singing.
The incursion also witnessed the direct participation of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who performed Talmudic rituals inside the mosque for the eighteenth time since taking office, alongside Knesset member Amit Halevi, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset Nissim Vaturi, and a number of rabbis and leaders of 'Temple' organizations, who deliberately performed prayers and Judaization rituals inside the mosque courtyards and openly called for changing the status quo there.
Among the most dangerous manifestations witnessed during the incursion was the extremist Rabbi Aryeh Lippo, accompanied by Rabbi Yehuda Glick, displaying stones brought from the 'Havat Gilad' settlement in the northern West Bank, claiming they were designated for building what is called 'the Temple,' including a stone alleged to be 'a stone from heaven,' in a symbolic attempt carrying dangerous political and religious messages that go beyond mere provocation, and fall within practical promotion campaigns for alleged 'Temple' construction projects at the expense of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a dangerous precedent since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, the occupation police erected a permanent canopy in the eastern courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque to serve settlers during the incursion, a step considered a practical attempt to nibble away parts of the eastern courtyards and establish a permanent presence there, which constitutes an extension of plans to impose spatial division within the mosque.
These violations were accompanied by strict Israeli measures targeting Muslim worshippers and employees of the Islamic Endowments Department, as occupation forces prevented most endowment employees from reaching their workplaces, and only allowed on-duty guards to enter. They also closed the King Faisal, Qattanin, and Iron Gates to worshippers, and transformed their surroundings into areas designated for settlers since the day before yesterday evening, coinciding with what is called the 'Sovereignty March' called for by 'Temple' organizations.
The occupation police also imposed arbitrary age restrictions on the entry of worshippers, starting by preventing those under seventy-five from entering the mosque, before later raising the age to eighty years. Many worshippers were informed that 'today is reserved for Jews' and were asked to leave the place. At the same time, hundreds of occupation police officers were deployed inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and in the vicinity of the Old City and its gates, while providing full protection to the settlers.
We fully realize that the state of Arab and Islamic weakness and laxity, and the continued weak Arab and Islamic stances that do not rise to the magnitude of the dangers surrounding Al-Aqsa, and the persistence of Arab and Islamic stances in verbal and rhetorical frameworks, the absence of any practical stances and steps, and the complete inability of the international community, and the 'fading positions of many Arab countries that align with strange and abnormal positions by saying that there is no objection to Al-Aqsa Mosque becoming a multi-faith tourist and religious center, provides fertile ground for the assimilation of these extremist groups, not only in their incursions into Al-Aqsa, but in their efforts to impose Judaization facts there.
If Arab and Islamic positions remain pale and 'fluid,' and maintain the broken record of condemning, denouncing, and calling on the international community to bear its responsibilities, without them bearing their own responsibilities, then Al-Aqsa will suffer the same fate as the Ibrahimi Mosque, which has come under almost complete Israeli control.
And I say, and my affair is with God, in light of the state of Arab and Islamic collapse and helplessness, I believe that by the end of the year, the eastern area of Al-Aqsa will have been seized, and work will have begun on establishing a synagogue there, near the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall, and the administrative supervision of Al-Aqsa will also be replaced, and that authority will be withdrawn from the Islamic Endowments Department, and Jordanian custodianship will be abolished.
