TEHRAN, (Xinhua) -- Iran's foreign minister said on Thursday that the Vienna nuclear talks could enter a new phase if Iran's economic interests are guaranteed and its red lines respected in Washington's possible response to its views on the EU proposal.
This was stated by Hussein Amir Abdullahian in a phone call with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, in which they discussed bilateral, regional and international issues, according to the website of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Amir Abdollahian said that after receiving the US response to the views Iran had earlier conveyed to the EU on the bloc's proposed final draft of a possible nuclear deal, Tehran would consider whether its interests were safeguarded and its red lines respected.
He indicated his country's goodwill and seriousness to reach a "good and sustainable" agreement, but "we cannot talk about achieving a good and lasting agreement unless an agreement is reached on everything."
Meanwhile, the Omani foreign minister expressed his hope to achieve a satisfactory outcome in the Vienna talks through cooperation between all parties.
On Monday, Iran announced that it had submitted a written response to the European Union's draft on the possible deal, noting that the nuclear deal would become a reality if the US response was realistic and flexible.
