Malmö ( Sweden ) (AFP) - The Swedish police announced Saturday that the target of the shooting that occurred in a shopping center in the southern city of Malmö was apparently the man who died in the attack.
"Currently, everything suggests that this man was the target of this murder," Malmo police chief Petra Stenkola told a news conference.
A woman was wounded in the shooting, which took place shortly before Friday evening, and was taken to hospital in serious condition. Police said she was a passer-by at the scene.
A 15-year-old boy suspected of being the shooter was arrested.
Police explained to AFP that they considered the attack "an isolated incident linked to criminal circles", ruling out the existence of terrorist motives.
Weeks before elections in Sweden, criminality has become one of the main issues in the national debate.
