Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan (Xinhua) - At least 4 passengers were killed and 10 others injured in a traffic accident that occurred in northern Afghanistan's Balkh province, the provincial police office confirmed in a statement on Sunday.
The statement said that the fatal accident occurred on a road linking Shulgara district with Mazar-i-Sharif city, capital of Balkh province, yesterday evening (Saturday), when two Corolla cars collided with each other, killing 4 passengers, including women and children, on the spot and injuring 10 others.
The statement blamed the recklessness of drivers and the poor condition of the roads for the fatal accident in the mountainous region.
On Tuesday, 4 passengers were killed and 8 others were injured in a similar accident in Badigs province, in the west of the country.
