The Palestinian Presidency issued a strongly worded statement condemning the continuous series of crimes carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in cooperation with settler groups against citizens in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. The Presidency affirmed that these violations come within the context of a systematic policy aimed at intimidating Palestinians and breaking their will in various governorates, coinciding with the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The Presidency highlighted the horrific massacre that took place in the village of Tal in Nablus Governorate, where occupation forces opened fire on a Palestinian family, leading to the martyrdom of four of its members and the serious injury of three others. The Presidency described this incident as a war crime added to the occupation's record full of aggressions against unarmed civilians who face the Israeli war machine with bare chests.
Official sources indicated that settler attacks did not stop at Nablus, but extended to include barbaric attacks on citizens' properties in the towns of Aqraba, Surra, Immatin, and Far'ata, in addition to the areas of Masafer Yatta and Imriha. These attacks included burning properties and terrorizing peaceful residents in their homes under the direct protection of the occupation army, which provides cover for these gangs.
In a dangerous development, field sources reported that occupation forces stormed Nablus Specialty Hospital, where they intimidated medical staff and patients and directly assaulted them. The occupation did not stop at the storming, but also carried out kidnappings of citizens from inside the health facility, in a flagrant violation of all international laws that protect medical institutions and civilians in times of conflict.
The Palestinian Presidency held the extremist right-wing occupation government fully responsible for the lives of citizens, noting that its financial and political support for settlers is the primary driver of this escalation. Official statistics revealed that 87 martyrs have fallen since the beginning of this year, including 21 citizens who died directly from settler bullets, reflecting the extent of organized terrorism practiced by these groups.
The statement also condemned the recent decisions issued by Benjamin Netanyahu and his war minister, which included accelerating the construction of illegal settlement outposts and intensifying military raids in West Bank cities. The Presidency considered that imposing a siege on the city of Nablus and its surroundings represents collective punishment aimed at tightening the noose on the Palestinian people and pushing the region towards the brink of a comprehensive explosion from which no one will be safe.
In conclusion of its statement, the Palestinian Presidency called on the American administration to break its silence and intervene immediately to compel the occupation authorities to stop their crimes and provide international protection for the Palestinian people. It stressed the need for the international community to bear its legal and moral responsibilities in holding the occupation leaders accountable for their crimes, warning that the continuation of this approach will lead to catastrophic repercussions that will destabilize the entire region.
The occupation government is pushing the West Bank towards a comprehensive explosion in implementation of its settlement and forced displacement plans.
