The Israeli Knesset today, Monday, approved in its first reading a bill to form an official inquiry committee to investigate the security and political failures that coincided with the October 7, 2023 attack. This parliamentary move aims to determine responsibility for the gaps that allowed the attack and its widespread repercussions.
In a related context, the Hamas movement announced its commitment to implementing the terms of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need to adhere to what has been reached to ensure the stability of the truce. The movement clarified in its statements that it is seriously following the course of the agreement despite the existing field challenges.
On the other hand, the movement issued warnings that the continuation of military operations and intensive Israeli shelling on various areas in the Strip puts the agreement at risk. Sources indicated that the field escalation could undermine efforts to consolidate the ceasefire, which would return the situation to a state of comprehensive tension.
Hamas warned that the continuous Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip threatens the course of the ceasefire agreement.
