A Palestinian citizen was martyred and several others were injured to varying degrees, today, Sunday, as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting gatherings of civilians and displaced persons in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported that the teams of the Kuwaiti Specialized Field Hospital were able to recover the body of the martyr and the wounded from the vicinity of Dream Hall, located in the western area of the city, where they were immediately transferred to receive the necessary medical care.
In another field development, an Israeli drone launched an attack targeting the courtyard of Ibn Sina School in Al-Shati Camp, located northwest of Gaza City. Local sources confirmed that the missile launched by the drone caused injuries among citizens present in the school courtyard, which is used as a shelter for displaced persons, causing a state of panic and terror among the families residing there.
On the statistical front, the Palestinian Ministry of Health revealed in its latest reports issued today, Sunday, a horrific increase in the toll of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 2023. According to official data, the number of documented martyrs reached 73,032, while the number of wounded and injured exceeded 173,357 people, amid extremely complex health and humanitarian conditions.
The ministry indicated in its statement that Israeli violations have not stopped despite the announced understandings, as 1,021 Palestinians have been martyred since October 11 last year, the date when a ceasefire was supposed to take effect. These figures reflect the continuation of military operations and the targeting of populated areas and displaced persons in various governorates of the Strip.
These new attacks come at a time when the remaining field hospitals and medical centers are suffering from a severe shortage of basic supplies and fuel. Field sources continue to warn of the danger of continued targeting of shelters and schools, stressing that the direct shelling of areas that are supposed to be safe exacerbates the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Since the ceasefire on October 11 last year, the number of martyrs has risen to 1,021 due to continued violations.
