Hamas attacks security coordination and accuses the Authority of 'role-playing' with the occupation in the West Bank

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) directed sharp criticism at the performance of the Palestinian Authority's security forces in the West Bank, describing the continued pursuit of resistance fighters as a state of alignment and role-playing with the Israeli occupation. The movement affirmed in a press statement issued today, Thursday, that this approach aims to undermine resistance work at a time when Israeli aggression against Palestinian cities and towns has escalated.

The movement clarified that the repeated incidents of occupation forces arresting wanted Palestinians immediately after their release from PA prisons prove the existence of direct and nationally rejected security coordination. Hamas considered these practices to be reprehensible behavior that undermines the sacrifices of the Palestinian people, especially in light of the continuous attacks launched by settlers and Israeli army forces in various governorates of the West Bank.

Hamas stressed that what it described as the 'farce of security coordination' must stop immediately, calling on the Authority's leadership to side with the Palestinian street and protect resistance fighters instead of pursuing them. The movement believed that the continuation of political arrests amidst the genocide and ethnic cleansing faced by Palestinians constitutes a stain that requires a firm national stance from all forces and political currents.

In a field monitoring of these violations, local sources reported that the occupation forces arrested the released prisoner Musab Qawzah just two days after his release from Palestinian Authority prisons. It is worth noting that Qawzah had gained his freedom as part of the 'Al-Aqsa Flood' deal, but the Palestinian security services arrested him for a short period before he fell into the hands of the occupation again.

The sources also pointed to another incident that occurred in the town of Saida, north of Tulkarm, where occupation forces stormed the home of young man Sarra Raddad and arrested him a few hours after his release from PA prisons on March 25. These incidents reinforce the accusations of national forces that there is a 'revolving door' between Palestinian and Israeli prisons targeting active field cadres.

Hamas concluded its statement by calling on Palestinian forces and factions to adopt a comprehensive national strategy that rejects security coordination and pressures the security services to change their doctrine. It stressed the need for the immediate release of all political prisoners and the provision of protection for the resistance, which faces existential challenges amidst settlement expansion and daily aggressions.

The occupation's arrest of wanted individuals immediately after their release from PA prisons reflects direct coordination and behavior that contradicts the aspirations of our people.
