Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced that difficult challenges hinder the continued provision of specialized care for eye patients due to damage to diagnostic and surgical equipment, leading to difficulties in surgical interventions and increased waiting times for operations.
The same sources clarified that the pharmaceutical supplies for eye services are very limited and do not meet urgent needs, while the shortage of specialized medications for eye patients has exacerbated their acute and chronic suffering.
They indicated that 4,000 patients suffer from elevated intraocular pressure "glaucoma," facing the threat of vision loss due to a lack of treatment and limited surgical procedures.
The ministry called on all relevant parties to urgently intervene to provide diagnostic equipment and specialized medications for eye patients.
