Spain announced today, Saturday, that it has submitted an action plan to the European Union to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the urgent need to act to halt the destruction, death, and famine, and to achieve peace in the Middle East.
Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated via the "X" platform that his country will advocate for the importance of this plan during the EU Foreign Ministers' meeting today, Saturday.
It is worth noting that Spain has been calling since 2023 for a halt to arms exports to the occupying state due to the war on Gaza, before its position later evolved to include a ban on purchasing arms from the occupying state as well.
The time has come to take practical steps to end the crisis.
