The Chief of Staff of the occupying army, Eyal Zamir, announced today, Sunday, that the aggression plan will move to the next phase of the "Gideon's Chariots" operation in the besieged Gaza Strip. These statements come at a time when the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, is sticking to his conditions for ending the war on the strip, which has violated all international laws and treaties related to human rights.
Zamir confirmed that the current battle is unlimited and is part of a long-term plan, emphasizing that the army has a "moral duty" to return the prisoners held in Gaza. This came during his tour of the destroyed areas of the strip, where he indicated that the "Gideon's Chariots" operation has achieved its objectives.
Zamir added that "Hamas no longer possesses the capabilities it had before this operation, and we have inflicted severe damage on it." He clarified that the current battle is not a localized event but part of a long-term plan targeting all components of the axis, led by Iran.
At the same time, Netanyahu renewed his conditions for ending the war, which include security control over the strip and disarming the Palestinian factions. These conditions come amid ongoing military escalation by the occupying army.
For its part, Hamas considered Zamir's statements regarding the occupation of Gaza as an announcement of a new wave of genocide and mass displacement, pointing out that these plans represent a major war crime.
The Islamic Jihad Movement also added that imposing the displacement of the population amid ongoing suffering represents a continuous crime against humanity, affirming that this behavior is inseparable from the daily crimes committed by the occupation in the occupied West Bank.
In a related context, the Civil Defense in Gaza reported that the occupying forces have destroyed more than 400 homes and residential buildings in the Zaitoun neighborhood over the past few days, exacerbating the suffering of the residents.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupying forces have continued to carry out genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls. This genocide has resulted in 61,944 martyrs and 155,886 injured, most of whom are children and women.
The plans for the occupation of Gaza and the displacement of its residents are a major war crime that reflects the occupation's disregard for international laws.
